Faux leather bags are synthetic alternatives made through artificial processes or recycling methods. Based on the raw materials and manufacturing techniques used, faux leather is typically categorized into three types: artificial leather, synthetic leather, and recycled leather. Below are the details of each process:

Artificial Leather
Made by using textile fabrics (such as cotton canvas or polyester) as a base, which is then coated with a layer of organic polymer material (such as PVC or PU resin). Depending on the thickness and process, artificial leather can be divided into two types:

1. Thin Artificial Leather: The coating is thin, and the texture is soft. It is mainly used to imitate the delicate texture of sheepskin and is commonly found in affordable women's bags.

2. Thick Artificial Leather: A foamed organic material is first coated onto the fabric base to increase thickness. It is then embossed to create textures similar to cowhide, such as lychee grain or cross-grain patterns. This type is cost-effective and commonly used for basic bags in the mass consumer market.

3. Synthetic Leather
Made from organic fibers (such as polyester, nylon, or polyurethane fibers), these fibers are combed and pressed into a base with a structure similar to leather. A decorative layer with a leather-like texture is then applied to the surface. Synthetic leather closely mimics the texture and appearance of genuine leather and is waterproof and easy to clean. It is one of the most widely used materials in the faux leather bag market.

4. Recycled Leather
An environmentally friendly alternative, recycled leather is made from scraps and waste leather fibers generated during leather production. The process involves several steps: first, raw leather materials are ground into fine fiber particles; a high-pressure adhesive is added and mixed; the mixture is then pressed into sheet-like substrates using high-temperature and high-pressure equipment. A specialized peeling machine is used to peel the substrate to the desired thickness, and finally, surface coating and embossing treatments are applied to give it a leather-like appearance and durability.
